Predicted Crystal Palace line-up to face Chelsea in the Premier League

Crystal Palace will welcome Chelsea to the Selhurst Park as Roy Hodgson hopes to bounce back on Sunday. The Eagles dropped two points against a struggling Cardiff City side at home on Boxing Day after playing out a 0-0 draw.

Hodgson’s Crystal Palace will look to stun Chelsea, who come into Sunday’s game on the back of a 2-1 victory at Watford.

Team News

Christian Benteke remains out with a knee injury, while Wayne Hennessey and Martin Kelly have an outside chance of returning to the squad against Chelsea.

Probable Crystal Palace XI

Formation: 4-4-2

Manager: Roy Hodgson

Vicente Guaita (GK)

Guaita will look to keep another clean sheet when Chelsea visit Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Mamadou Sakho

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB)

Wan-Bissaka has nailed down a place in the team with a series of impressive displays. He is a sure starter against Chelsea.

James Tomkins (CB)

Tomkins will look to keep things tight at the back against the Blues.

Mamadou Sakho (CB)

Sakho has been Tomkins’ perfect partner at the heart of the Palace defence. The Frenchman has to be wary of the Hazard threat at the weekend.

Patrick Van Aanholt (LB)

Van Aanholt is an attacking left-back who will look to deliver the goods against his former employers.

Luka Milivojevic (CM)

A fantastic passer of the ball, Milivojevic’s presence in the engine room keeps Crystal Palace ticking.

Cheikhou Kouyate (CM)

Partnering Milivojevic in the middle of the park could be Kouyate. The Senegalese will look to keep things simple and nullify the influence of Jorginho.

Max Meyer (LM)

A classy operator of the ball, Meyer would add creativity to the Palace attack from the left-hand side of the attack.

James McArthur (RM)

Blessed with a top engine, McArthur’s work rate and desire to compete for everything makes him a real asset to the Eagles.

Wilfried Zaha

Wilfried Zaha (LS)

A jet-heeled attacker known for his incredible pace and athleticism, Zaha will be a tricky customer to deal with for the Chelsea backline.

Andros Townsend (RS)

Another nippy attacker, Townsend will look to link up with Zaha and help Crystal Palace to all three points at home against Sarri’s Chelsea.
