Predicted Fulham line-up to face Southampton in the Premier League

Fulham will be aiming to make a positive start to their life under Claudio Ranieri when they face fellow strugglers Southampton at Craven Cottage this Saturday. It was Slavisa Jokanovic who led the London-based team when they played against Liverpool before the international break.

Since then, there has been a managerial change and now the former Leicester City boss has taken over the reins.

Fulham are currently 20th in the table and are desperate for a win as one would suppose. They are up against a Southampton side who were partially unlucky not get three points in their previous game against Watford.

Injury News

Kevin McDonald and Joe Bryan are injured at the moment. The latter is back in training but the Saturday game might come too early.

Probable Fulham XI

Formation: 4-4-1-1

Manager: Claudio Ranieri

Marcus Bettinelli (GK)

The Englishman has been the pick of the three goalkeepers used this season at Fulham. He could start ahead of Sergio Rico and Fabri.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah (RB)

The loanee from Manchester United could get his start at right-back as Ranieri seeks defensive security.

Calum Chambers (CB)

The loanee from Arsenal should start in central defence and provide a good base to the team.

Alfie Mawson (CB)

The summer signing is probably Fulham’s best centre-back at the moment, hence, he should start every game.

Ryan Sessegnon

Ryan Sessegnon (LB)

The youngster missed a glorious opportunity to score against Liverpool but it is his defensive duties that will come to the fore at left-back.

Andre Anguissa (CM)

The new summer signing may start in central midfield in Ranieri’s first league game in charge of Fulham.

Jean Michael Seri

Jean Michael Seri (CM)

The Ivorian hasn’t been at his best since his high-profile arrival this summer. However, he is a top-class player who could get a new lease of life under the new manager.

Andre Schurrle (LW)

Schurrle has shown glimpses of how good he can be, however, the consistency is lacking. Ranieri would be hoping to see more from the German.

Luciano Vietto (RW)

The loanee from Atletico Madrid has shown at times that he can be a difference-maker in the final third.

Tom Cairney

Tom Cairney (CAM)

The captain needs to gear his game up and start taking more responsibilities in the midfield. He may be given a free role behind the striker.

Aleksandar Mitrovic (ST)

The Serbian target-man made a fiery start to the season, but has declined since. Fulham would hope his goal-scoring exploits come back to life.
