Predicted Aston Villa line-up to face West Brom in the Championship

Aston Villa picked up a very impressive 3-0 victory against Middlesbrough in the Championship last weekend as they edge closer to the promotion playoff spots. The Villans are in superb form under Dean Smith at the moment and will surely hope to make their way into the Premier League next season.

The manager now turns his attention to this weekend’s clash against West Bromwich Albion. The Baggies were only able to draw against Brentford and they now entertain the Villans at the Hawthorns. It will definitely pose a tough test for Dean Smith’s side given that the Baggies have been in good form as well.

Team News

Albert Adomah and Keinan Davis are still out injured and will be unavailable to start this game. Birkir Bjarnason is out too and will be unavailable for this game.

Probable Aston Villa XI

Manager: Dean Smith

Formation: 4-4-1-1

Orjan Nyland (GK)

Did well between the sticks against Boro and will surely keep his place.

Axel Tuanzebe

Ahmed Elmohamady (RB)

Elmohamady raided well down the right flank and he should continue to do so in this game as well.

Axel Tuanzebe (CB)

Tuanzebe defended well at the back against Boro. He will surely keep his place given that Villa have no other centre-backs.

James Chester (CB)

Chester scored a good goal and handed the Villans the lead in the last game. He should continue to partner Tuanzebe at the back.

Neil Taylor (LB)

Taylor has defended well but he needs to offer more going forward. He will continue at left-back for this game.

James Chester

Anwar El Ghazi (RM)

Has caused all sorts of problems down the right wing with his pace and trickery. Should start this game.

John McGinn (RCM)

McGinn should continue in the middle of the park and spray those passes he has been providing so well.

Conor Hourihane (LCM)

Hourihane should continue to partner McGinn in the middle of the park. A gifted player, his performance would have a say on the result.

Yannick Bolasie (LM)

Bolasie can terrorise the Baggies’ backline with his pace and ability on the ball. A potent threat.

Yannick Bolasie

Jack Grealish (CAM)

Grealish should sit behind the striker for this one and pull the strings as usual. His performance will be vital on the day.

Tammy Abraham (ST)

Abraham is scoring goals for fun at the moment. He will lead the line for this game as well.
