Chelsea vs Manchester United predictions: Manchester United line-up

Manchester United will head to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Monday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils look to bounce back from the disappointment of slipping to a 2-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday night at Old Trafford.

The defeat to PSG was their first loss since Solskjaer took temporary charge at Old Trafford back in December and Manchester United will be keen to make amends against Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea.

Team News

Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial remain doubtful after both were injured in the first half of the game against PSG.

Alexis Sanchez is battling to be fit for Monday’s FA Cup game after he injured himself by colliding with a linesman while warming up against PSG.

Meanwhile, Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian remain sidelined.

Probable Manchester United XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Sergio Romero (GK)

Romero is United’s cup goalkeeper and he’ll start against Chelsea.

Diogo Dalot (RB)

Dalot could get the nod ahead of Young, who played the entire 90 minutes against PSG.

Victor Lindelof (CB)

Lindelof has established himself in the team and is expected to retain his place.

Eric Bailly (CB)

Partnering Lindelof at the heart of the Manchester United defence could be Bailly, who will be raring to impress his manager.

Luke Shaw (LB)

Shaw has made the left-back position his own this season. He is a certain starter in the FA Cup game.

Nemanja Matic (CDM)

Matic brings stability and calmness to the midfield. A good passer of the ball, the Serb will look to deliver the goods against his former side.

Ander Herrera (RCM)

Herrera is a tenacious player whose presence in the midfield allows Pogba to play his natural game.

Paul Pogba (LCM)

Pogba has been a different animal under Solskjaer, running the show, providing assists, scoring goals and winning games for United. The Frenchman is an undoubted starter against Sarri’s Blues.

Juan Mata (RW)

With Lingard doubtful, Mata could be handed a start on the right wing.

Marcus Rashford (LW)

Although Rashford has been excellent through the middle, Solskjaer could use him on the left at Stamford Bridge to accommodate Lukaku.

Romelu Lukaku (ST)
