Predicted Man City line-up to face Everton in the Premier League
Manchester City began the season by setting the standard, with Liverpool and Spurs leading the chasing pack but over the last couple of months, they’ve dropped off the high standard they’ve set for themselves despite beating Arsenal 3-1 last time out.
Currently in 2nd place, they are three points off Liverpool who drew against West Ham. If Man City beat Everton in this game, they would go top of the table on goal difference, albeit playing a game more than the Reds.
With a big against Chelsea coming up at the weekend, expect a multitude of changes in this match.
Team News
The long-term injuries to club captain Vincent Kompany and second-choice goalkeeper Claudio Bravo have ruled them both out of this midweek game with no confirmed date of return on either.
Benjamin Mendy is gradually recovering from his knee injury and while he could feature in this game, he is probably going to be saved for the weekend outing against 4th-placed Chelsea in what promises to be an intriguing game.
Probable Manchester City XI
Formation: 4-3-3
Manager: Pep Guardiola
GK – Ederson
The Brazilian has nailed down the starting role for City and his good displays of late will further motivate the fans and manager.
RB – Kyle Walker
Possibly the best right-back in the world, his amazing pace and strength when added to his crossing makes him quite a player.
RCB- John Stones
With Otamendi preferred to the Englishman against Arsenal last weekend, expect the former Everton man to play in midweek.
LCB – Nicolas Otamendi
The Argentine could come in to replace Laporte as he has played a lot of football recently.
LB – Danilo
Guardiola has been happy using Danilo in the left-back position this campaign after the long-term injury to Benjamin Mendy and he hasn’t disappointed.
RCM – Bernardo Silva
The Portuguese magician has really come into his own this term and is clearly learning the trade from the more experienced Silva in the City ranks.
CM – Ilkay Gundogan
The German midfielder has shown time and again that his eye for a pass is what that tempted Guardiola to bring him to the Etihad Stadium in the first place.
LCM – David Silva
The Premier League veteran has been involved in anything positive that City have achieved over the last many years and expect him to start in his usual spot.
RW – Riyad Mahrez
The former Premier League winner with Leicester has slowly begun showing himself in a good light this season with some good displays.
CF – Gabriel Jesus
With Aguero having played against Arsenal in the weekend, it wouldn’t be a massive surprise if Jesus started this one.
LW – Leroy Sané
After not starting against Arsenal at the weekend, expect the German international to be raring to go for this midweek game.
