Predicted Man United line-up to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League

Manchester United resume their Premier League duties at the weekend when they host Crystal Palace at the Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United already sit 12 points off the top at 8th place, suffering an upsetting 3-1 defeat to rivals Manchester City before the international break.

The Red Devils cannot afford to drop any more points now if they are to make it to the top four. On Saturday, they’ll face Crystal Palace, who will be desperate to break the winless streak.

Team News

Manchester United have received a double boost, with Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba returning to training on Tuesday. But Mourinho will be without Luke Shaw for Saturday’s game as the defender serves a one-game suspension.

Meanwhile, summer signing Diogo Dalot is in contention for his Premier League debut. Up the pitch, Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford are nursing knocks and remain doubtful for the game.

Probable Manchester United XI

Formation: 4-3-3

David De Gea (GK)

David De Gea has just kept one clean sheet so far this season. He will be looking to add to his tally against Palace on Saturday.

Diogo Dalot (RB)

Dalot is firmly in contention to start at right-back even though he is lacking match fitness. The dynamic full-back will look to provide attacking enterprise down the right flank.

Chris Smalling (CB)

Mourinho has persisted with Smalling for some time despite the Englishman’s hot and cold form. Smalling should start in United’s back-four once again.

Victor Lindelof (CB)

Lindelof has bulldozed his way into the United starting XI with a string of impressive performances. The newly crowned Swedish Player of the Year is a certain starter against Palace.

Ashley Young (LB)

With Shaw suspended and Valencia out of favour, Young could start at left-back, the role in which he mightily impressed last season.

Nemanja Matic (CDM)

Nemanja Matic offers calmness to United’s midfield but he has struggled for form this season. Hopefully, the Serb kicks on against Palace at the weekend.

Ander Herrera

Ander Herrera (RCM)

Undoubtedly had the worst game of his United career against City, Herrera will look to make amends and impress the manager on Saturday.

Paul Pogba (LCM)

Pogba’s absence was felt in United’s dismal defeat to arch-rivals City. However, the Frenchman is in contention to start at the weekend and will look to help the Red Devils to a victory.

Anthony Martial (LW)

United’s chief source of goals in recent weeks, Martial will look to terrorise the Palace defenders with his dribbling skills and pace. He is a certain starter for the game.

Jesse Lingard (RW)

His energy and directness give a different dimension to United’s attack. On the right, Lingard could be preferred ahead of Mata.

Alexis Sanchez (ST)

With Lukaku and Rashford doubtful, Sanchez could get a chance to lead United’s attack. He has impressed in the last couple of games.
