Fulham vs Manchester City predictions: Manchester City line-up

With the international break finally over, Premier League football returns and Manchester City take on Fulham. The reigning Champions of England are in an incredible battle with Liverpool at the moment and having not played last week, had to watch as the Reds took pole position.

However, the Cityzens have a chance to make up the difference against relegation-threatened Fulham. The Cottagers have only managed four wins so far this season and were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City in the reserve fixture.

Things could get worse but somehow under caretaker manager Scott Parker, they’ve found a fighting spirit. But it hasn’t been enough, with the club on a two-game losing streak. Things could get worse and with Manchester City chasing the title, Fulham could be in for a tough time.

Team News

Manchester City have eight players injured, although Sky Sports has reported that Fernandinho, John Stones, Kevin De Bruyne and Benjamin Mendy are back in full training.

The trio represents just half of the club’s injuries, with Nicolas Otamendi, Fabian Delph, Vincent Kompany and Claudio Bravo also out injured.

Probable Manchester City XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Pep Guardiola

Ederson (GK)

The Brazilian was benched for Brazil’s second game of the international break and should thus be in great shape to start the clash against Fulham.

Kyle Walker (RB)

While the English right-back started both games for England, with the title race still going hot, Pep Guardiola could look to play his best players.

Aymeric Laporte (CB)

The Frenchman has had his issues with injury over the last few months but still remains arguably Manchester City best centre-back.

Fernandinho (CB)

With a massive influx of injuries within the club, Pep Guardiola could be without John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi, which means that Fernandinho should comfortably step in.

Oleksandr Zinchenko (LB)

A revelation at left-back, Zinchenko has deputised well in Benjamin Mendy’s absence and should continue doing so until the 24-year-old returns.

Ilkay Gundogan (CM)

With Fernandinho deputising as a centre-back, Gundogan should keep his place in the team alongside David Silva.

David Silva (CM)

Impeccably brilliant, the Spaniard has been a key player in Guardiola’s side and with Kevin De Bruyne doubtful, he should keep his place.

Bernardo Silva (CM)

David Silva’s heir apparent, the Portuguese has been a standout star this season, doing both the defensive and the offensive part of the game brilliantly.

Riyad Mahrez (RW)

Though he has not been at his best over the last few weeks, the Algerian should get a chance to prove himself over the next few days.

Sergio Aguero (ST)

With Gabriel Jesus struggling to make an impact, the Argentine has stepped up in great fashion, with 18 goals to his name. A sure starter.

Raheem Sterling (LW)

In great form, Sterling has produced 12 goals in his last six games, including two hattricks for both Manchester City and England.

Siddhant Lazar

Tom Landry once said "Football is an incredible game. Sometimes it's so incredible, it's unbelievable." Football is and always will be the beautiful game. What every child understands, yet every adult struggles to, is that it is a game that defines the nature of the universe. But that's just me.
