Bournemouth vs Manchester City predictions: Manchester City line-up

A penalty from Sergio Aguero sealed the victory for Manchester City against West Ham. The defending champions are just a point behind Liverpool and anything but a win on Saturday against Bournemouth could be disastrous.

Fernandinho and Aymeric Laporte are both ruled for the game after the injuries that they picked up in the league cup final against Chelsea. Gabriel Jesus and John Stones are massive doubts for the champions, with Claudio Bravo and Fabian Delph both ruled out.

Ederson (GK)

The Brazilian is City’s undisputed number one and has kept 13 clean sheets so far in the Premier League. He is expected to continue in goal on Saturday.

Kyle Walker (RB)

The former Tottenham man was on the bench in the game against West Ham but is set to return to the starting line-up in place of Danilo against Bournemouth.

Nicolas Otamendi (CB)

The Argentine hasn’t been a regular this season due to the emergence of Laporte but is expected to start in central defence on Saturday.

Vincent Kompany (CB)

The skipper has been getting regular game time since the injuries to Laporte and Stones, and is set to start alongside Otamendi on Saturday.

Benjamin Mendy (LB)

After a lengthy layoff due to injury, the Frenchman returned to the bench against West Ham and should start in place of Zinchenko against Bournemouth.

Ilkay Gundogan (CM)

The German filled the void left by Fernandinho in the previous game and is expected to continue in central midfield at the weekend.

Kevin de Bruyne (CM)

The Belgian hasn’t quite hit the form of last season but is still an important part of Pep Guardiola’s side. He should start next to Gundogan on Saturday.

David Silva (CM)

The Spaniard is one of the first names on the team sheet for Pep Guardiola and his creativity will be important for City on Saturday. He should complete the three-man midfield.

Raheem Sterling (LW)

Sterling was on the bench in the midweek game against West Ham and is expected to return to the starting line-up against Bournemouth at the weekend.

Arguably City’s most underrated player, Silva’s vision and brilliance on the ball has been very important for the Champions and he should return to the starting eleven on Saturday.
