Predicted Liverpool line-up to face West Ham in the Premier League

League leaders Liverpool will be aiming to get back to winning ways when they face West Ham United at the London stadium on Monday night. Jurgen Klopp’s men missed the chance to go seven points clear at the top by only managing to draw against Leicester at Anfield.

However, they are still five clear of Manchester City, and in a good position with 14 league games to go this season. On Monday, they will be against the Hammers who got the hammering from Wolves on Tuesday. Manuel Pellegrini’s men are in their worst form at the moment and they will also be aiming to put up a good show against the Reds.

Hence, expect a tight contest between the two teams in a standalone fixture.

Team News

Trent Alexander-Arnold will be back in full training next week, while Joe Gomez could be out for another two weeks. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is slowly regaining match fitness and could be back in full training by the end of this month. Dejan Lovren has suffered the same hamstring injury that kept him out of action for three weeks.

Probable Liverpool XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Alisson Becker (GK)

The Brazilian would be hoping to keep a clean sheet after conceding four in the last two games. Clean sheets were being kept with regularity early on in the season.

James Milner

James Milner (RB)

He is back from suspension and would deputise at right-back, with Trent and Gomez still out.

Joel Matip (CB)

With Liverpool short on centre-back options, Matip is expected to keep his place.

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

He wasn’t at his 100% against Leicester due to illness, however, the Dutchman is expected to be back to full throttle come Monday.

Andy Robertson (LB)

The performance against the Foxes wasn’t his best. Hence, the Scot would be aiming to better that.

Fabinho

Fabinho (CDM)

He came off the bench on Wednesday and looked like a player who was required in the Liverpool midfield. The Brazilian is expected to start this Monday.

Jordan Henderson (RCM)

The captain played at right-back in the midweek, but should be back to his favoured midfield role against the Hammers.

Georginio Wijnaldum (LCM)

The Dutchman wasn’t at his best on Wednesday, however, he remains a key player in the midfield for the Reds. Hence, he is expected to start on Monday.

Mohamed Salah (RW)

Salah couldn’t really do much when centre-backs marked him in the central area. As a result, the Egyptian should move to the right-hand side and cut inside from there.

Roberto Firmino (FWD)

The Brazilian was below par against Leicester and will have to raise his game. Playing in the false nine position might help him get better.

Sadio Mane

Sadio Mane (LW)

The Senegalese star was the best attacker on that day and scored the goal as well. His threat on the left-hand side of the attack would be tough for the West Ham defenders to handle.
