Jurgen Klopp
After an impressive win over Chelsea, Liverpool would be aiming to finish the job they started last week, in the last-eight tie of the Champions League against Porto.
The Reds won the first leg 2-0 at Anfield last Tuesday. Now the focus shifts to the Dragao in Portugal, where the return leg takes place on Wednesday.
Jurgen Klopp’s side didn’t concede an away goal, hence, they are the side in the driver’s seat. They know that one goal in Portugal might just be enough to get past this Porto team.
On the other hand, 2-0 is a precarious lead to hold onto and if the Portuguese giants get of to a good start, then the Premier League leaders may find themselves in trouble.
All in all, the tie is not over and Liverpool have some finishing off to do before they even think about the semifinals.
Jordan Henderson was subbed off against Chelsea after he picked up a knock in his ankle. But Klopp confirmed that he didn’t twist anything and is nothing serious (h/t Liverpool FC).
Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain played for the youth team this past week as they build their match fitness.
He is their first-choice keeper and should be in goal on Wednesday.
Young Trent Alexander-Arnold has played a lot of games recently. It won’t be a surprise if he gets a rest and the ever-versatile Milner starts at right-back.
He played in the first leg and did a decent job. Expect the Croat to start on Wednesday too.
The Dutchman is an irreplaceable cog in the team and a certain starter for this game.
The Scotsman was suspended for the first leg. He is expected to get straight back into the team at left-back.
The Brazilian’s form has been on the up in the last two months. Expect him to start on Wednesday.
Naby Keita played the last three games and impressed. However, we might see him being rested for this game, with Wijnaldum regaining his place in the team.
The captain has been in great form in a slightly advanced midfield role. He is expected to be fit and should start again on Wednesday.
The Egyptian star scored an absolute worldie against Chelsea. He would be aiming to add to his tally in the Champions League on Wednesday.
He is one of their important cogs and probably the first name on the team sheet.
