Manchester united vs Liverpool predictions: Liverpool line-up

After an enthralling 0-0 draw against German champions Bayern Munich on Tuesday, Liverpool head to Old Trafford this weekend for another tough fixture.

A victory to Jurgen Klopp’s side will take them to the top of the Premier League table ahead of Manchester City and will keep them as favourites to win the league title at the end of the season.

Liverpool have been considerably lucky in terms of injuries with just 3 players ruled out. Dejan Lovren was in contention to return but Sunday’s game looks to early for him. Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain are the other long term absentees.

Alisson Becker (GK)

The Brazilian has kept 14 clean sheets so far in the Premier League and has been Klopp’s number one since his arrival in the summer.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

The youngster has been very impressive for Liverpool this campaign and has featured regulary when fit. He is expected to start again on Sunday.

Joel Matip (CB)

The Cameroonian has started each of Liverpool’s last four games and is set to continue against Manchester United on Sunday.

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

The Dutchman missed the mid-week tie in the Champions League due to a suspension but should return to the heart of the defence for the weekend. Van Dijk’s positioning and aerial prowess will be very important if Liverpool are to get the points on Sunday.

Andrew Robertson (LB)

The 24-year-old has only missed two games this Premier League campaign and has picked up an impressive 6 assists so far. His crosses from the left flank will be important and he should start on Sunday.

Fabinho (CDM)

The Brazilian has become a regular for the Reds after a slow start to his Liverpool career. Fabinho has featured in each of Liverpool’s last 11 games and is expected to start again at Old Trafford.

Naby Keita (CM)

The former RB Leipzig man arguably produced his best performance for Liverpool since his move and has made his case for a start in the Premier League this weekend.

Georginio Wijnaldum (CM)

After a brilliant performance in the Champions League on Tuesday, Wijnaldum should be on top of Klopp’s list of midfield options for the game on Sunday.

Sadio Mane (LW)

The Senegalese speedster has scored 12 goals so far in the league and will look to add more against Liverpool’s arch-rivals at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Mohamed Salah (RW)

The Premier League’s joint top scorer has scored 17 goals so far this season and is one of Liverpool’s most important players. Salah will look to cut in and play a free role throughout the game.

The Brazilian hitman has scored 9 goals and picked up 4 assists so far this campaign and is a menace for the defenders to deal with. He should start up top for Liverpool on Sunday.
