Chelsea vs Eintracht Frankfurt predictions: Chelsea line-up

A disappointing 1-1 draw to Manchester United summarised Chelsea’s weekend, with the Blues struggling to get over the line. They struggled to do much with the ball, often defending for their lives for most of the first half.

While things did change, the Blues will have to step it up against Eintracht Frankfurt. The Bundesliga side are on a decent run in the German top-tier and are on course to finish in a Champions League spot.

That combined with their performances in Europa League makes them a formidable opponent for the Blues.

Maurizio Sarri’s side have managed to win just two out of their last five games and are currently on a three-game winless run. That does give Chelsea a small problem and they will need to be at their very best to beat Frankfurt.

Barring that, the Blues have a fully fit squad at their disposal, with the exception of Marco Van Ginkel and Ethan Ampadu.

The Spaniard has played a large majority of Chelsea’s games this season and should keep his place in the team-sheet.

The Dane replaced Rudiger against Manchester United and did well, making him the best player to replace the German.

David Luiz (CB)

Luiz has found his stride this season and with an injury to Antonio Rudiger, he should keep his place.

Emerson (LB)

The 24-year-old has struggled to find his place this season and should make the team-sheet, with Marcos Alonso playing the last two games.

Jorginho (CM)

A talented player, the regista needs to start playing to his potential or could find himself on the last bus out of Stamford Bridge.

Ross Barkley (CM)

The former Evertonian started the season really well but things have since petered out for the midfielder. He needs to pick up some form quickly.

N’Golo Kante (CM)

Among the best in his position, there have been a few debates about the Frenchman’s position this season and yet, he’s done really well.

Willian (RW)

An injury to Callum-Hudson Odoi has ruled the young winger out for the season and that should see Willian find his way back into the team.
