Predicted Rangers line-up to face Cowdenbeath in the Scottish Cup

Rangers will be aiming to make a good start to their Scottish Cup campaign when they face Cowdenbeath in the fourth round. These two teams were supposed to meet a few days before, but due to bad pitch conditions, the game was postponed. Hence, here we are, in pursuit to get a result from this game on Wednesday night.

Steven Gerrard’s men did well to come back from a loss and defeated Livingston 3-0 away from home to regain second spot in the league. They are up against a Cowdenbeath side who lost their previous league game in the Scottish league two.

Team News

Connor Goldson missed the last game due to a foot injury and is a doubt for this one. Jamie Murphy is out long-term, while Graham Dorrans will return by early February. Eros Grezda is also out for a few more weeks.

Probable Rangers XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Steven Gerrard

Wes Foderingham (GK)

He could get his opportunity as this is a cup game. Allan McGregor may get an off for this one.

James Tavernier (RB)

The captain is expected to start at right-back and lead the team in this cup tie.

Gareth McAuley (CB)

We could see veteran McAuley get a chance to showcase his talent in this cup tie.

Nikola Katic

Nikola Katic (CB)

He was one of the main reasons why the Rangers defence looked much better against Livingston. The Croat should start this game.

Borna Barisic (LB)

Another player who did very well against Livingston at the back and should start this cup tie.

Ryan Jack (CM)

Scored the goal in the previous league game and shielded the back-line well in the midfield. He is expected to keep his place in the team.

Ross McCrorie (CM)

He played as a defensive midfielder and did well against Livingston. The Jack-McCrorie double pivot should start on Wednesday.

Steven Davis (CAM)

The new signing could get a chance to showcase his talent in that number 10 position. Scott Arfield may get a rest for this one.

Ryan Kent

Ryan Kent (LW)

Scored a good goal and looked a threat down the left-hand side. The Liverpool man is expected to torment the Cowdenbeath defence on Wednesday.

Jermaine Defoe (ST)

Alfredo Morelos has been in great form in the league, however, we may see him get a rest, with Defoe leading the line.
