Predicted Norwich City line-up to face Ipswich Town in the Championship

Come Sunday, Carrow Road will host the East Anglian derby as Norwich City lock horns with Ipswich Town.

The Canaries are riding high at the top of the table and thrashed Leeds United 3-1 at the weekend. Norwich City will head into Sunday’s derby as overwhelming favourites, having enjoyed complete dominance over Ipswich Town over the last decade.

Ipswich Town, who remain rooted to the bottom of the table, are struggling for points and confidence at the moment and have not beaten their rivals in almost ten years.

Team News

January deadline day signing Philip Heise, a left-back from Dynamo Dresden, could make the squad on Sunday after missing out against Leeds.

Probable Norwich City XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Daniel Farke

Tim Krul (GK)

Krul has been the undisputed No.1 in goal and that won’t change on Sunday.

Max Aarons (RB)

A flying right-back, Aarons has been in brilliant form for Norwich City. He’ll retain his place in the team.

Christoph Zimmermann (CB)

Zimmermann has been a regular fixture in the Norwich backline this season. He should start against Ipswich at the weekend.

Ben Godfrey (CB)

Ben Godfrey is excelling in the centre-back role and will partner Zimmermann when Norwich City host the East Anglian derby.

Jamal Lewis (LB)

A marauding left-back, Lewis has been tearing up the Championship this season.

Alex Tettey (CM)

Tettey is a very important player for the Canaries due to the position he plays in. He’ll be given the nod ahead of Trybull against Ipswich.

Mario Vrancic (CM)

Vrancic was excellent in the 3-1 win over Leeds. He is a certain starter on Sunday.

Emi Buendia (RW)

Buendia is an intelligent player who can pick out a pass and create things out of nothing. The Argentine is expected to start on the right wing.

Marco Stiepermann (CAM)

Stiepermann is Norwich’s creator-in-chief and has supplied four assists already this season. He is certain to start in his favoured No.10 role.

Onel Hernandez (LW)

Hernandez could be a thorn for Ipswich, terrorising the visitors with his pace and unpredictable movement.

Teemu Pukki (ST)

Pukki is banging goals left, right and centre for the Canaries. Currently in superb form, he’ll be looking to get on the 20-goal mark as quickly as possible.
