Aston Villa vs Norwich City predictions: Norwich City line-up

This is it. The final game of the Championship season for Norwich. They’ve confirmed their promotion to the Premier League with a draw against Stoke City, which shows the dominance they’ve had in 2019.

Leeds United were once the favourites to make their way to the top but things have changed, with both Norwich City and Sheffield United confirmed as promoted. But they need to finish first to ensure their domination and that means winning the final game of their season.

It just so happens that it’s against Aston Villa, who are fighting for a place in the promotion playoffs. While their place in the post-season clash has been confirmed, the Lions will want to end their season with a win.

Their 11-game winning run came to an end with a 1-1 draw against Leeds United but they are still unbeaten. That gives Norwich City a small problem but if they play like they did in the reverse fixture, things should go their way.

Team News

Daniel Farke has a healthy team at his disposal barring both Louis Thompson and Carlton John Morris, who have returned to training. But, Tom Trybull will sit out the final few games after hurting his ankle in the draw against Stoke City.

Probable Norwich City XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Daniel Farke

Tim Krul (GK)

A veteran, the 31-year-old has bags of experience and more importantly, has been a big part of Daniel Farke’s team this season.

Max Aarons (RB)

Barely 19 years old, the right-back has been exceptional so far and that has earned him a place in the team of the season.

Ben Godfrey (CB)

The cornerstone of Daniel Farke’s defence, Godfrey has played every game since December and barring any injury, he will keep his place.

Christoph Zimmermann (CB)

A key star in Norwich City’s back-line, the 26-year-old has been Godfrey’s perfect partner and should keep his place in the starting eleven.

Jamal Lewis (LB)

With 41 appearances to his name, Lewis is among Daniel Farke’s most popular players this season, with only Teemu Pukki, Marco Stiepermann, and Tim Krul playing more than him.

Alexander Tettey (RDM)

With Tom Trybull injured, Tettey should make the starting eleven and he will have to step up his performances.

Kenny McLean (LDM)

With Moritz Leitner struggling to make an impact, McLean has stepped into his place.

Marco Stiepermann (CAM)

The only attacking midfielder at Norwich City’s disposal, the German has been reliable, playing 43 games this season, producing 17 goals.

Emiliano Buendia (RW)

Amongst Norwich City’s best players this season, the Argentine has been in good form and furthermore, has 11 assists to his name.

Teemu Pukki (ST)

The Championship player of the year, the former Schalke flop has resurrected his career, scoring 28 goals and creating 10 this season.

Onel Hernandez (LW)

The 26-year-old has made 39 appearances this season and has responded with 8 goals and 9 assists to his name.

Siddhant Lazar

Tom Landry once said "Football is an incredible game. Sometimes it's so incredible, it's unbelievable." Football is and always will be the beautiful game. What every child understands, yet every adult struggles to, is that it is a game that defines the nature of the universe. But that's just me.
