Predicted Man United line-up to face Arsenal in the FA Cup
Since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s takeover as the manager after an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Liverpool, Manchester United have gone on a 7-game winning streak which included a memorable 1-0 win over Tottenham at Wembley stadium.
They have looked like a team reborn with all the players performing up to the high standards that have traditionally been set by United. They will be looking to continue their form by beating Arsenal and hence progressing onto the latter stages of the coveted tournament.
Team News
Marouane Fellaini has been ruled out for a few more weeks with a calf problem while both Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo are still quite a way away from full match fitness.
Also, Marcus Rashford picked up a knee injury last week which will have to be assessed before deciding whether he is fit to play. Luke Shaw is expected to return to the line-up after recovering from illness.
Probable Manchester United XI
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Manager: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
GK – David De Gea
Arguably the best keeper in the world, De Gea single has singlehandedly won many games for Manchester United. In a crucial game like this, he is expected to start.
RB – Ashley Young
Has shown himself in a good light over the last few months and has been good in an attacking sense as well. His crosses and runs will be crucial if they are to win this game.
RCB – Eric Bailly
Having lost his place in the starting line-up to Phil Jones, Bailly should start against Arsenal in what is effectively a must-win game for United.
LCB – Victor Lindelof
He has made the starting centre-back’s role his own and has managed to fend off competition from Bailly well. He should start this crucial game for the Devils.
LB – Luke Shaw
This young Englishman has had a good season after suffering multiple injury setbacks over the last few seasons. He will have to work his socks off if United are to progress from this tough fixture.
RCM – Nemanja Matic
Signing Matic was a master-stroke by Mourinho as his work in the defensive phase has helped the centre-halves regain their confidence.
LCM – Fred
After watching most league matches from the sidelines, Fred will be eager to show the United fans exactly what he’s about in such an important fixture.
RAM – Alexis Sanchez
Another player who will be hoping to start against his former employers, this could be a perfect opportunity for him to prove to Ole that he deserves a place in this squad.
CAM – Paul Pogba
Recent World Cup winner with France, he has looked like a new player after the managerial takeover, shedding light on the people who questioned his talent.
LAM – Anthony Martial
Martial, like all the other players at United, has looked fresher in recent weeks. His sharp turns and shots will be extremely key to beating a fiery Arsenal side.
ST – Romelu Lukaku
Having lost his starting role to Rashford who is doubtful because of a knee problem, Lukaku is expected to lead the front line for Ole’s men.
