Predicted Manchester United line-up to face Fulham in the Premier League

Manchester United will lock horns with Fulham at Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho hopes to return to winning ways in the Premier League.

The Red Devils played out an exciting 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Thursday but that saw them drop another two points at home. Given the difference between Man United and the league leaders, finishing inside top four should be Jose Mourinho’s priority this season.

Manchester United are eight points adrift of the top four places and to reduce that gap, they need three points against Fulham, who come into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Leicester City.

Team News

Anthony Martial is expected to recover in time to face Fulham on Saturday after limping out during the 2-2 draw vs Arsenal.

Victor Lindelof and Alexis Sanchez remain sidelined with groin and hamstring problems respectively, while Luke Shaw and Phil Jones are doubtful for Saturday’s game.

Antonio Valencia will miss out with a knock but Ashley Young is back after completing his suspension.

Probable Manchester United XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Jose Mourinho

David De Gea (GK)

De Gea came in for some intense criticism after his blunder gifted Arsenal a goal in midweek. He will look to redeem himself against Fulham at the weekend.

Diogo Dalot (RB)

Dalot showed promise in his first Premier League start against Arsenal and will look to build on that with a stellar showing at the weekend.

Chris Smalling (CB)

Smalling needs to keep things tight at the back to give United a good chance of winning against Fulham.

Eric Bailly (CB)

Bailly produced a colossal performance against Arsenal and deserves a run of games to regain his lost confidence.

Ashley Young (LB)

Having served his one-game suspension, Young could walk straight back into the starting XI against the Cottagers.

Ander Herrera

Nemanja Matic (CM)

Matic had a decent game in the midweek and should start the weekend fixture.

Ander Herrera (CM)

Herrera justified his selection against Arsenal with a typical tigerish performance in the midfield. He deserves to start on Saturday.

Anthony Martial (LW)

With his pace and dribbling skills, Martial could give Fulham’s shaky defence a torrid time on Saturday.

Jesse Lingard (CAM)

Lingard’s energy and movement make him such an important player for Mourinho’s side. He could start in the no.10 role.

Marcus Rashford (RW)

Rashford dished out two fantastic performances against Southampton and Arsenal. That should be enough to warrant him a place for Saturday’s game at home.
