Derby County vs Rotherham predictions: Derby County line-up

Derby County are on a miserable run in the Championship, having won just two of their last 9 games. The Pressure is well and truly on manager Frank Lampard, whose side’s chances of reaching the playoffs are hanging in the balance.

The Rams host 22nd-placed Rotherham at the weekend, who are desperately fighting to stay up in the Championship. Derby have no margin for error from now until the end of the season and Frank Lampard should get his tactics on point.

Team News

Andy King and Curtis Davis are long-term absentees and are ruled out for the rest of the season. Mason Bennet and Craig Bryson are huge doubts for the weekend’s game but Mason Mount and Marcus Olsson are expected to return to the squad from their injuries.

Probable Derby County XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Frank Lampard

Kelle Roos (GK)

The Dutch goalkeeper kept a clean sheet against Stoke in the last game and should retain his spot between the sticks on Saturday.

Jayden Bogle (RB)

The 18-year-old has been outstanding for his age this season and has provided 4 assists so far.

Richard Keogh (CB)

Keogh has been ever-present for the Rams this season and his leadership at the back will be vital.

Fikayo Tomori (CB)

The Chelsea loanee has formed a brilliant partnership with Keogh in the heart of Derby’s defence and has missed just one game all season. He should continue at the back on Saturday.

Scott Malone (LB)

The former Huddersfield man has done fairly well and should start ahead of Ashley Cole against Rotherham this weekend.

Tom Huddlestone (CDM)

The former Tottenham man has played the full 90 minutes in each of Derby’s last three games and he is expected to continue in central midfield on Saturday.

Bradley Johnson (CM)

Johnson, like Huddlestone, has played the full 90 minutes in the last 3 games and was very solid against Stoke at the weekend. He should start again on Saturday against Rotherham.

Mason Mount (CAM)

The Chelsea loanee has missed the last 9 games due to an injury but should come back to the lineup now that he is fit.

Harry Wilson (LW)

The 22-year-old has been one of Derby’s brightest prospects this season, having scored 10 goals in the Championship so far. He should start on the left flank and float around like usual.

Florian Jozefzoon (RW)

The Dutchman has been poor so far this season and a start against a poor side like Rotherham could do him a world of good.

David Nugent (ST)

The 33-year-old hasn’t been his usual goalscoring self this season but his experience will prove to be handy in the final stages of the season and he should start on Saturday.
