Predicted Rangers line-up to face Hearts in the Scottish Premiership

Rangers have the chance to go top of the Scottish Premiership table on Sunday by beating Hearts at Tynecastle.

Steven Gerrard’s Gers come into the game on the back of an excellent 0-0 draw against Villarreal in the Europa League. They will look to go all guns blazing from the onset to bring home all three points.

Hearts, meanwhile, start the weekend three points behind leaders Celtic and one behind Rangers.

Team News

Borna Barisic is available after recovering from a calf injury. Jordan Rossiter is fit as well, but he may have to settle for a place on the bench. Ryan Kent, meanwhile, misses out with a hamstring problem. Graham Dorrans and Jamie Murphy are Gers’ long-term casualties.

Probable Rangers XI

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Manager: Steven Gerrard

Allan McGregor (GK)

McGregor had a phenomenal game between the sticks against Villarreal and is an easy pick for Sunday’s game.

Connor Goldson

James Tavernier (RB)

Tavernier is Gerrard’s first-choice right-back and he’ll keep his place in the team.

Connor Goldson (CB)

Goldson has established himself as a regular fixture under Gerrard this season. He is a certain starter at Tynecastle.

Gareth McAuley (CB)

Alongside Goldson, Gareth McAuley could start in central defence on Sunday.

Borna Barisic (LB)

Barisic will need few games to get back to his best for Rangers. He will look to put in a big performance after recovering from a calf injury.

Ryan Jack (CDM)

Jack should in front of the back-four, protect them and provide a base for the flair players to express themselves freely.

Ovie Ejaria (RCM)

Ejaria could get the nod ahead of Coulibaly in central midfield on Sunday.

Scott Arfield (LCM)

Arfield brings a lot of energy and experience to the engine room. Due to his ability to come up with important goals, he is a vital cog in the Rangers squad.

Daniel Candeias (RW)

Candeias will look to add a different dimension to the attack. He is a certain starter on the right wing.

Eros Grezda (LW)

Blessed with explosive pace and dribbling abilities, Grezda could prove to be a handful for the Hearts’ defence on Sunday.

Alfredo Morelos (ST)

Morelos has been banging goals left, right and centre this season. He should be preferred ahead of Lafferty to lead the Gers attack.
