Rangers vs Aberdeen predictions – Rangers line-up
Rangers would be aiming to get into the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup when they face Aberdeen in the replay of the quarter-final at the Ibrox. They played out a 1-1 draw in the subsequent game at Pittodrie Stadium.
Steven Gerrard’s men were left disappointed in the league as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Hibernian on Friday. Their ambitions of chasing Celtic still has a lot to be desired. However, going into the next round of the cup competition might not be a bad idea.
On Tuesday, they will be up against an Aberdeen side who held the Hoops to a 0-0 draw on Saturday. Hence, we should expect a tight encounter between two evenly-matched teams.
Team News
Gareth McAuley picked up a hamstring injury that kept him out of the previous game. Expect him to be out of reckoning for tomorrow as well. Eros Grezda is out for a few weeks, while Jamie Murphy is out until next month.
Probable Rangers XI
Formation: 4-1-4-1
Manager: Steven Gerrard
Allan McGregor (GK)
The 37-year-old is the Gers’ first-choice keeper and should continue to be in goal for the cup games as well.
James Tavernier (RB)
The captain wasn’t at his best on Friday and is expected to better that tomorrow night.
Connor Goldson (CB)
He has been one of the consistent players at the back for Gerrard’s men. The former Brighton man is in line to start against Aberdeen.
Joe Worrall (CB)
Worrall has developed a good partnership with Goldson in central defence. The duo is currently the first-choice centre-back pairing.
Borna Barisic (LB)
Andy Halliday did alright on Friday but wasn’t able to provide the attacking support to Ryan Kent. Hence, we could see Barisic back in the team for this game.
Ryan Jack (CDM)
He shrugged off injury concerns to play against Hibernian and is expected to hold the midfield together.
Glen Kamara (RCM)
The January signing has done well in the midfield. His powerful runs and clever use of the ball is making a lot of difference.
Steven Davis (LCM)
The loanee from Southampton should get a chance ahead of Scott Arfield. The latter has been doing well but he fails to impact the game on a consistent basis.
Ryan Kent (LW)
The loanee from Liverpool was probably Rangers’ best player against Hibernian. He is an undroppable cog in the team.
Daniel Candeias (RW)
Scored the goal on Friday to continue his fine form. His deliveries into the box and late runs would be crucial against Aberdeen.

Alfredo Morelos (ST)
The Colombian has been quiet in the past couple of games, but he remains a threat to any defence in the country. Rangers fans would be hoping that their star man fires in the big game.
