Leeds United vs Brentford prediction: Leeds United line-up

It’s the first round of midweek Championship fixtures as Leeds United welcome Brentford at Elland Road on Wednesday.

The Whites remain unbeaten after four matches of the 2019/20 campaign, following a 2-0 victory over 10-man Wigan Athletic at the weekend. With three wins and a draw, Marcelo Bielsa’s side have moved to the top of the Championship table.

On the contrary, Brentford have endured a tough start to the new campaign and head into Wednesday’s game off the back of a 1-1 draw with Hull City.

Team News

Luke Ayling and Tyler Roberts are the only members of the Leeds United senior squad currently out of action.

Probable Leeds United XI

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Manager: Marcelo Bielsa

Kiko Casilla (GK)

Casilla kept a clean sheet at Wigan and will be eager to keep another when Brentford visit Leeds on Wednesday.

Stuart Dallas (RB)

With Ayling out injured, Dallas is the natural starter at right-back. He has impressed so far this season.

Ben White (CB)

White is starting to form a strong partnership with Liam Cooper at the back. He is expected to start against Brentford.

Liam Cooper (CB)

Cooper will have to lead from the front and help the Whites keep a clean sheet on Wednesday.

Barry Douglas (LB)

Douglas had a start-stop first season at Elland Road. However, he has started the new campaign impressively and will complete Leeds’ back four.

Kalvin Phillips (CDM)

Phillips is the beating heart of Bielsa’s system. He controls the tempo of the game with his passing skills, giving the attackers the free license to cause damage to the opposition.

Pablo Hernandez (RW)

Hernandez adds the much-needed guile to Bielsa’s side and is a potential match-winner on his day. He is a certain starter against the Bees.

Adam Forshaw (RCM)

Forshaw looks reinvigorated this season, with the midfielder establishing himself as one of the first names on Bielsa’s team sheet.

Mateusz Klich (LCM)

The Polish midfielder has started all the three of Leeds’ league games so far this season and is expected to make his fourth appearance on Wednesday.

Jack Harrison (LW)

Harrison is a definite starter on Wednesday and should find himself in his regular position down the left.

Patrick Bamford (ST)

Bamford’s brace helped Leeds earn three points at Wigan. He is likely to keep his place at the top of the attack, ahead of on-loan Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.
