Predicted Sheffield United line-up to face Reading in the Championship

Sheffield United will look to bounce back from last weekend’s home defeat to Leeds United when they travel to Reading on Saturday.

Chris Wilder’s Blades remain in the play-offs but since it is heavily congested this time around, they need to get into a winning momentum.

And Sheffield United can start that from Saturday against Reading, who are struggling at the moment and currently just above the relegation zone in 21st place.

Team News

Chris Wilder’s team are currently injury free.

Probable Sheffield United XI

Formation: 3-4-1-2

Manager: Chris Wilder

Dean Henderson (GK)

Henderson has been brilliant between the sticks for the Blades. He is one of the first few names on the team sheet.

Chris Basham (RCB)

Basham will occupy the right-hand side of the three-man defence.

John Egan (CB)

Egan is United’s defensive lynchpin and should start Saturday’s game at Reading.

Jake O’Connell (LCB)

O’Connell is a ball-playing defender who is adept at building attacks from the back.

George Baldock (RWB)

Baldock could again get the nod ahead of Freeman for the right wing-back spot.

Oliver Norwood

Oliver Norwood (CM)

Norwood has been a mainstay in United’s engine room. A classy operator of the ball, he is a certain starter against Reading.

John Fleck (CM)

Fleck is Norwood’s ideal midfield partner and Wilder won’t disturb the pairing unless there is a big need.

Enda Stevens (LWB)

Stevens is arguably United’s best wing-back. He is an indispensable figure in Wilder’s squad.

Mark Duffy (CAM)

Duffy a the player who is adept at linking the play between the midfield and the attack. A typical no.10, he is a creative player and picks out pockets of spaces behind the opposition defences. He is a certain starter for the weekend fixture.

Billy Sharp (LS)

Sharp’s goals have dried up of late. The skipper has to lead the team from the front to guarantee three points on Saturday. A big performance is indeed required from Sharp.

Conor Washington (RS)

Washington could get the nod ahead of McGoldrick for the fixture. His terrifying pace and directness could give Reading’s shaky defence a torrid time at the weekend.
