Watford vs Arsenal predictions: Arsenal FC line-up

After comfortably brushing aside Napoli in the Europa League, Arsenal travel to Vicarage Road to face an in-form Watford side who are on a high after going through to the finals of the FA Cup.

Arsenal’s brilliant form in the league came to an end last week after a horrific performance against Everton away from home. However, Thursday’s brilliant performance would have regained their confidence as they look for the vital 3 points on Monday.

Team News

Arsenal will miss Sokratis Papastathopoulos due to suspension but Lucas Torreira will be available after serving his 3-game ban. Granit Xhaka is also expected to return to the side but long-term absentees Hector Bellerin, Danny Welbeck and Rob Holding are still unavailable.

With a massively important second leg tie against Napoli coming up, Unai Emery should look to rest a few of his key players against Watford.

Bernd Leno (GK)

The German was on the bench against Napoli but he should return to the line-up against Watford on Monday.

Shkodran Mustafi (CB)

The former Valencia man struggled against Everton but with a good break in midweek, he should look to make a strong comeback against the Hornets on Monday night.

Konstantinos Mavrapanos (CB)

The highly-rated Greek defender should be given a chance in place of the suspended Sokratis while Laurent Koscielny should be rested for the upcoming Europa League tie in Naples.

Nacho Monreal (CB)

The Spaniard has struggled in his new role at times but he has been one of Arsenal’s most consistent players in recent years. He should continue in the left centre-back role against Watford.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles (RWB)

The 21-year-old had one of his best games in an Arsenal shirt against Napoli on Thursday. He is expected to continue on the right on Monday.

Matteo Guendouzi (CM)

The teenage sensation has had a breakthrough campaign so far and his presence in the midfield will be hugely important for the Gunners against an attack-minded Watford side.

Granit Xhaka (CM)

The Swiss midfielder has been out of action since the international break but is expected to return to the squad. Xhaka was a massive miss for the Gunners in their defeat to Everton but his return should give them enough steel in the middle of the park.

Sead Kolasinac (LWB)

Kolasinac had a brilliant game against Napoli in midweek and despite his slight dip in form in the Premier League, he should start against Watford on Monday.

Alex Iwobi (LW)

The Nigerian has been on the bench in Arsenal’s last two games but his driving runs down the left flank has been a key factor in Unai Emery’s system this season. He should get a start on Monday.
