Hence, Manchester United must bolster their attack with firepower. The club have been linked with Croatian winger Ivan Perisic and Mourinho is reportedly interested in snatching the Inter Milan man away from the Serie A.

Perisic has been impressive for club and country throughout the last year. He guided Croatia’s golden generation to the finals of the FIFA World Cup. The winger scored 2 goals and provided 1 assist in 6 games for his country. Perisic also made a total of 37 appearances in the Serie A last season, scoring 11 goals and providing 9 assists in that time. He has been one of Inter’s standout performers over the last few years.

Bailly joined the club in 2016 and if it wasn’t for a few injuries, he would easily be one of their best defenders. He is expected to play a major role this time around.

Chris Smalling (CB)

Smalling was a regular feature under Mourinho last season. In fact, he was one of their best defenders as Manchester United often shut out opposition attackers. The Englishman is expected to partner Bailly in defence.

Ashley Young (LB)

One of United’s most consistent players over the years, Young’s raids down the left flank are unparalleled and he will once again play a huge role in the squad.

Nemanja Matic (CDM)

The defensive powerhouse was sold by Chelsea but he has proven his worth with Manchester United. Matic brings stability in the middle of the park and that will be crucial for Mourinho in the upcoming season.

Paul Pogba (LCM)

Pogba was often restricted to a deep-lying role last season but he his skills are remarkable. He will be expected to hit new heights next season.

Fred (RCM)

The former Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder was signed after a string of impressive performances for his club. He could be one of their biggest attacking threats going forward.

Alexis Sanchez (LW)

Sanchez didn’t take the Premier League by storm since moving to United He took his time to settle into the squad but the player should hit the ground running next season.
