Predicted Swansea City Line-up To Face Brighton & Hove Albion In The Premier League

Swansea City will look to arrest their poor run of form, when they clash against Premier League newbies Brighton & Hove Albion, at the Liberty Stadium, this Saturday.

The Swans currently find themselves at 17th position, following their 2-1 loss away at Arsenal this past weekend. Having registered just a single win in their last 7 league outings, the Welsh outfit will be hoping to turn things around against the Seagulls.

Team News

Left-back Martin Olsson continues to be a major doubt for the game due to a hamstring injury, while fellow full-back Angel Rangel is also unlikely to be involved due to a thigh strain. Loan signing Renato Sanches’ availability is also under a cloud of doubt as he recovers from a thigh problem, while captain Leon Britton might not feature as well. Striker Wilfried Bony (Hamstring) and defender Kyle Bartley (Knee) are confirmed absentees.

Here’s how manager Paul Clement might set his team out against Chris Hughton’s men:

Manager: Paul Clement

Formation: 3-5-2

Lukasz Fabianski (GK)

The Polish shot-stopper has been impressive for the Swans between the sticks so far. Having kept 4 clean sheets, he will be on the lookout for a fifth on Saturday.

Mike van der Hoorn (CB)

With injuries to several key members of the squad, Dutchman Mike van der Hoorn should make his 5th league appearance of the season.

Alfie Mawson

Federico Fernandez (CB)

The Argentine has been one of Swansea’s better players in the past year or so. He will line up in the centre of the back three against Brighton.

Alfie Mawson (CB)

Completing the three-pronged backline for the Welsh team should be Englishman Alfie Mawson. Has played every minute of league action this term and that should not change.

Kyle Naughton (RWB)

The former Tottenham Hotspur man hasn’t been able to hit his strides so far this term, but will need to be at the top of his game against a dangerous Jose Izquierdo on Saturday.

Leroy Fer (CM)

In the middle of the park, Netherlands international Leroy Fer is expected to feature once again. He will provide the Swans with the drive and energy from the midfield.

Ki Sung-Yeung (CM)

With injuries to Britton and Sanches, and Roque Mesa not settling in as expected, the 28-year old Ki Sung-Yeung should make his second league start of the season.

Tom Carroll (CM)

The 25-year old former Tottenham man is a constant fixture in the line-up for the Swans. Will need to contribute in the attack, if his team are to stand a chance of getting 3 points.

Sam Clucas (LWB)

Scored last weekend in the loss to Arsenal. With Olsson indisposed, the former Hull City man will once again be expected to do the job at left wing-back.

Tammy Abraham (left) and Jordan Ayew (right)

Jordan Ayew (ST)

The Ghanaian forward has scored just a single goal so far this term. He needs to start contributing more in terms of goals if the Swans are to bounce back.

Tammy Abraham (ST)

The on-loan Chelsea forward has been in fine form and has been rewarded with a call-up to the England senior squad as a result. Would want to celebrate the news with a goal or two.
