Predicted Derby County Line-up To Face Hull City In The EFL Championship

Derby County will clash against Hull City in the sixth round of the EFL Championship, on Friday, at the Pride Park Stadium.

The Rams haven’t had the best of the starts to the new campaign and currently sit 12th in the table with seven points – having won against Preston North End and Bolton Wanderers, lost against Wolves and Sheffield United, and playing out a draw against Sunderland. Their previous fixture was a 3-1 thrashing at the hands of Sheffield United and manager Gary Rowett will be keen on bouncing back from that result and get a positive result against Leonid Slutsky’s men.

Midfielder George Thorne and striker Darren Bent are ruled out for the game. Left-back Craig Forsyth featured for the U21s before the international break and may return to the squad.

Manager: Gary Rowett

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Scott Carson (GK)

The 32-year old has been the number one choice for Rowett in goal and has started all five games so far. No changes expected.

Andre Wisdom (RB)

The former Liverpool man is another who has played every minute of Championship football for the Rams this term. A definite starter at right-back.

Richard Keogh (CB)

The 31-year old centre-back is a constant fixture for the manager and that is unlikely to change for the game against the Tigers.

Curtis Davies (CB)

The summer signing will partner Keogh in the heart of the defence and will be raring to go against his former club.

Marcus Olsson (LB)

With Forsyth on his road to recovery, the Swede is expected to keep his place in the starting XI at left-back.

Tom Huddlestone (CM)

Another summer signing, from Hull as well, Huddlestone will be keen on impressing against his former side during the weekend.

Tom Huddlestone

Bradley Johnson (CM)

Has played every minute of Championship football this season and will partner Huddlestone as the second pivot in the middle of the park.

Andreas Weimann (RW)

The 26-year old Austrian is yet to get off the mark for his new side and would want to get it out of the way against the Tigers.

Matej Vydra (CAM)

The Czech Republic forward has netted twice and assisted once in all competitions so far. Will play in the hole behind the target striker.

Johnny Russell (LW)

Out wide on the left will be Johnny Russell. The 27-year old has just managed a single assist so far and will want to improve his numbers.

David Nugent (ST)

At the top, leading the line will be David Nugent. The 32-year old has netted twice so far this season and has scored four in his last four appearances against Hull. Expect him to pose a few problems.
