Predicted Chelsea Line-up To Face Leicester City In The Premier League

Chelsea, the reigning Premier League champions, had a disastrous inception of the new campaign when they were defeated by minnows Burnley in the season opener at Stamford Bridge. The transfer window too was not much of a success for the Blues boss Antonio Conte who failed to land a number of prime transfer targets.

Chelsea, however, made a few intriguing signings despite missing out on several resources. They successfully negotiated a deal for former Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata who has impressed early into the campaign with goals as well as assists and replaced his fellow countryman Diego Costa – the Spanish hitman who has been exiled by the Italian boss.

Antonio Rudiger, the Germany international centre-back is settling down quickly after his move from AS Roma. The Blues have acquired veteran custodian Willy Caballero on a Bosman transfer upon expiration of his contract with league counterparts Manchester City.

Tiemoue Bakayoko, the French youngster, is believed to be an imposing recruit following a league winning campaign with AS Monaco whereas Davide Zappacosta and Danny Drinkwater – two late signings are expected to replicate the form that they produced for Torino and Leicester City respectively in recent years.

Despite suffering an unforeseen defeat in the opening weekend encounter, Chelsea bounced back splendidly against Spurs and Everton where they secured successive victories. They are racing towards the top spot of the league table ahead of their Saturday afternoon outing against Leicester City.

Their previous trip to the King Power Stadium back in January proved to be a one-sided affair for the Blues, who humbled the Foxes 3-0 and dethroned the defending champions to reclaim their lost throne.

Team News

Chelsea will be boosted by the return of Belgian superstar Eden Hazard who is back from his injury and is believed to make it to Conte’s squad this weekend. Skipper Gary Cahill is the only major absentee who is still suspended following his sending off within 15 minutes into the new Premier League campaign, during their season opener against the Clarets.

Antonio Rudiger and Alvaro Morata will be the only new signings who are supposed to have a nod in Chelsea’s starting line up. Zappacosta and Drinkwater, the two deadline day recruits, are expected to make it to the squad, especially Drinkwater, who might be handed a few minutes against his former employers.

Also, the likes of Willy Caballero, Andreas Christensen, Eden Hazard, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Davide Zappacosta, Michy Batshuayi and Danny Drinkwater are tipped to be part of the traveling squad who might be explored from the bench when required.

Conte won’t be making any drastic change to his starting XI that secured a convincing 2-0 win against the Toffees and might feature as follows:
