Chelsea vs Manchester United Predictions: Combined XI

Chelsea have just gone through one of their worst months in Premier League history. Until the Europa League victory over Malmo, Chelsea hadn’t scored an away goal since the start of 2019 and had lost all four of their away games as well.

Manchester United, on the other hand, had been in fine form all month until they eventually stuttered against Paris Saint-Germain in Champions League round of 16 phase. This will be a crucial tie for both sides as the winner will have a very good chance of progressing all the way to the final.

Here’s how a combined XI of players from these two sides would look:

GK – David De Gea

The Spaniard has been in fine form this season and will easily walk into this XI ahead of his opposite number.

RB – Cesar Azpilicueta

The spaniard has been defensively sound for Chelsea as usual and hence gets a place in this combined XI.

RCB – Antonio Rudiger

The German centre-half has been a rock at the back for Chelsea this campaign. He easily walks into this XI over Eric Bailly.

LCB – Victor Lindelof

The Swedish international centre-half has been good at the back since Ole took over and gets into this team.

LB – Luke Shaw

The English wing-back has been a good attacking force for United down the left side and makes this team over the inconsistent Marcos Alonso.

RCM – Ander Herrera

The Spanish midfield conductor has been in fine form since the start of Ole’s reign and takes his place in this team.

CM – N’Golo Kante

The Frenchman has been played in the wrong position all campaign but has still joined in with some important goals and interceptions.

LCM – Paul Pogba

The World Cup star will be the focal point of anything positive that this team conjures up against the Bluez and is a guaranteed starter.

RW – Anthony Martial

The Frenchman is often deployed on the left but he deserves a place in this side due to his performances this season.

ST – Marcus Rashford

Rashford easily gets the nod in this role as he has been in terrific form recently.
