Leicester City opinion: Should the Foxes sign Alfredo Morelos?

According to an update from BBC, Rangers’ star forward Alfredo Morelos has revealed his ambitions of playing in a better and more competitive league in the future.

The Colombian was heavily linked with a summer move to Leicester City back in March and his quotes should tempt the Foxes to make a move for him in the summer.

The Foxes’ appointment of Brendan Rodgers back in February changed their fortunes as they lost just 3 of their last 10 games in the league. Leicester finished the campaign placed 9th in the league, just two points below Everton who had a strong end to the campaign.

Rodgers will be keen to make some changes in his first transfer window as Foxes’ box and there are a lot of areas that need addressing. Shinji Okazaki was released by the club at the end of the campaign while Islam Slimani’s future at the club remains uncertain.

Kelechi Iheanacho’s move from Manchester City has been a huge failure and the Nigerian will have to be moved on to bring in a top quality forward in place of him. Jamie Vardy turned 32 in January and he will need good support next season.

Leicester’s need for a new striker is massive in this summer window and Alfredo Morelos could be a huge fix to all their problems up front. The Colombian has had an incredible season in terms of end product having scored 30 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions this season.

Brendan Rodgers would know a lot about Morelos thanks to his experience of watching the forward play against a Celtic side that he managed before he moved to Leicester City. Morelos would be a phenomenal addition to the Foxes side and the Premier League suits his style perfectly.

A true fox in the box with an incredible eye for goal, Morelos would be a fantastic partner to Jamie Vardy up to for the Foxes and two hugely clinical strikers leading the line will surely boost Leicester’s chances of making it into the Europa League at the end of next season.

The Colombian is a real threat in the air and has the ability to finish off his chances with both feet. The 22-year-old always manages to get himself in the right place at the right time and is a deadly player to come up against when given the smallest sights of goal.

Conclusion

Alfredo Morelos has the potential to be one of the best strikers in the world if he can keep his head down and focus. The Colombian can improve massively under a manager like Brendan Rodgers and his partnership with Vardy would potentially be one of the most feared in the country next season.
