Hull City signing this promising Everton prospect would certainly help them solve their issues up front

Hull City opinion: The Tigers should make a move for Josh Bowler

According to reports from the Hull Daily Mail, Hull City have entered the race for Josh Bowler, with the club looking to replace Jarrod Bowen. The prolific Tigers star had a rather fantastic season, finishing with 22 goals in the Championship alone.

This made him the only winger amongst the top 10 goalscorers in the second-tier. However, that has seen Everton and a few others enter the race for the forward, which will give the Tigers a rather big problem once they do lose Bowen.

The 22-year-old scored 33.333% of the club’s goals last season, with their second top scorer rather far off. That would be Fraizer Campbell, who netted just 12 goals, with Kamil Grosicki adding 6 and so on.

Yet, that is exactly where someone like Josh Bowler can make a difference despite the fact that the Englishman is just 20 years old.

Highly thought off at Everton, the 20-year-old joined the Toffees from Queens Park Rangers a little over two years ago. However, since then, he’s yet to make a first-team appearance and has very little first team minutes to his name.

The Hull Daily Mail further adds that the Tigers are only keen on a loan move, which would be very beneficial for both sides. Not only will the young winger get some much-needed game-time but at the same time, Hull City get someone to help them pad their teamsheet.

The Tigers are letting go of five players, which includes Callum Burton, Liam Ridgewell, James Weir, Evandro and Will Keane.

That does mean that new manager Grant McCann will have to add a few new stars, including a new back-up striker, attacking midfielder and, of course, a winger.

That’s where Josh Bowler walks in and the talented 20-year-old can make a difference. Capable of playing on either side, the Englishman has everything that a wide-attacker should have. Speed, intelligence, creative output and plus a bag of tricks at his disposal.

The only thing that he really doesn’t have right now is a goalscoring instinct. But with time and a little more experience, that should change.

Conclusion

Hull City need a few new additions to their team if the club ever want to return back to the Premier League in the near future. With time, Josh Bowler will do exactly that and a one-year loan spell will help the 20-year-old improve even further.
