Liverpool sacked former manager Brendan Rodgers earlier this season after a poor start to the new campaign and replaced him with former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp. Despite that, it seems now that the Northern Irishman could be back as Chelsea’s interim manager if current Blues’ boss Jose Mourinho is sacked this season.
Irish daily Belfast Telegraph have stated that the former Kop boss is now being backed to replace Mourinho as the next Chelsea manager. However, it has also been confirmed that Rodgers could just be a temporary choice till the west London side can find a long term replacement in the summer.
Rodgers has now 7/1 odds to succeed his mentor at Stamford Bridge and if it does indeed happen, it would be one of the most surprising managerial appointments in recent times. He is also claimed to be the perfect man to replace Tim Sherwood at Aston Villa, by many news outlets, though nothing seems certain yet.
