After two consecutive losses, Manchester City were dethroned from the top of the table by their neighbours Manchester United. Manchester City had a good start to this Premier League season with five consecutive wins before losing to West Ham and Tottenham in the past two weeks. Injuries to key players is the main contributing factor to this result. Now, the Cityzens will look to get their campaign back on track as struggling Newcastle United travel to the Etihad Stadium in search of points. But how will the hosts lineup?

Manchester City are having a huge concern with the injuries as Gael Clichy, Fabian Delph, Wilfried Bony and Eliaquim Mangala are ruled out of the clash with skipper Vincent Kompany and his deputy Yaya Toure uncertain for the clash. Spanish midfielder David Silva is fit and will start against the Magpies. Let’s have a look at the playing XI of Manchester City for tomorrow’s game.

Goalkeeper: Joe Hart

English goalkeeper Joe Hart returns from injury and is set to be in front of the goal replacing Willy Caballero.

Defenders: Pablo Zabaleta, Martin Demichilies, Nicholas Otamendi, Alexander Kolarov

The Cityzens had not conceded a single goal in their first 5 games and then went on to concede 6 in the next two. The men instrumental in five consecutive games are Kompany and Mangala will be out for this game and in their place, new signing Otamendi and Demechilles will be the two centre-backs while Zabaleta will be the right-back replacing Sagna and Kolarov at the left. Zabaleta could earn his first start of the season here, with Bacary Sagna given a rest having started in every game so far this season.

Midfield: Fernando, Fernandinho, Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Raheem Sterling
