How Liverpool Will Lineup With This £29m Attacker Plus All Their New Signings This Season?

It is like a kid won the lottery and started spending the money on all sorts of toys; Liverpool seems to be that kid, having made 6 signings with the transfer window still in its infancy. James Milner, Nathaniel Clyne, Roberto Firmino, Adam Bogdan, Danny Ings and Joe Gomez all have signed for the club while highly rated striker, Divock Origi will also be playing for the Reds as his loan deal with Lille comes to an end. With so many players still at the club and the new boys coming in, it might be a bit of a headache for Rodgers, apart from the Sterling issue, to come up with the best line-up. We here would like to suggest what Liverpool’s best line-up could be at the start of this season.

New boys fit right in

Liverpool have signed a few players to take care of some of the problems they faced last season. Starting at the back, there is new competition for Simon Mignolet from Adam Bogdan, however Mignolet will be the number one for Liverpool come the start of this season.

With Glen Johnson leaving the club on a free, Nathaniel Clyne, one of the most impressive players from the Southampton team will easily slot into the right-back. The central defensive pairing of Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren should continue, however Mamadou Sakho might have something to say about that. The left-back position could be an issue for Liverpool as Alberto Moreno should continue but he did not have the best of season’s last time around as he was often caught out by attackers.

The central midfield pairing should contain one of the other new boys, James Milner, the former Manchester City player was signed it seems to play in the central role, something he enjoys and he should be partnered by Liverpool’s new captain in the making Jordan Henderson. Both players have a great engine and work ethic; this could be one of the hardest working midfield pairings in the world.

When it comes to attack, Liverpool have an abundance of options. Daniel Sturridge should be the main striker, once he is fit. On the left should be Phillipe Coutinho who was one of Liverpool’s best players last season. He would be partnered by Roberto Firmino, the new £29 million signing from Hoffenheim. The biggest question that arises is who plays down the right for Liverpool? They have Sterling, Lallana, Ings and Markovic all waiting in the wings. While Sterling is a certainty to leave, we would bet the money on Ings getting the starting place at the start of the season.

If things don’t go as planned, Liverpool do have a wealth of options in almost every position to mix things up. They have Origi, Lallana, Markovic, Balotelli and Ibe to play in the attacking roles. They have Lucas, Allen and Can for the midfield roles and they have a few options for the back four as well. The rotation of the squad could be just as important for the club as the starting XI, especially with so many youngsters in the team.
