Liverpool opinion: Dream Reds XI featuring Dybala and De Ligt
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been nothing short of incredible this season, thanks to two of their big-money signings over the last two years. The Reds are challenging fellow big spenders Manchester City for the league title and are also in the hunt for the Champions League after eliminating one of the favourites, Bayern Munich.
Liverpool signing Alisson at the start of the season has been one of the best deals that the club have made in a long time. The Brazilian shot-stopper has been incredibly vital in goal for Jurgen Klopp’s side and has saved them multiple times already this season.
Virgil van Dijk’s arrival from Southampton last January has completely transformed this Liverpool side into title contenders. The Dutchman has been a massive presence in the Reds backline over the last one year and without him, they would have struggled massively.
The duo has helped Liverpool boast the best defence in the Premier League so far this season. Jurgen Klopp’s side have conceded just 18 goals so far this season and have kept 17 clean sheets in 31 games.
Irrespective of whether Liverpool win the league or not this season, they have to invest in the summer to keep up with the big spending Manchester clubs. The Reds already have a phenomenal squad and don’t need much to strengthen them in the summer.
However, Jurgen Klopp’s side could do with two more big additions to their squad to help them become the best in their league.
The Argentine has been linked with a move to Anfield in the summer and would be a fantastic addition to their squad. Dybala is capable of playing anywhere across the attack and could fill Liverpool’s void of a number 10.
A trio of Sadio mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah in front of Dybala would be one of the scariest attacks in the league and Jurgen Klopp should make a move for him in the summer.
Matthijs de Ligt
The Dutchman is one of the brightest prospects in world football today and would form a solid partnership with compatriot Virgil van Dijk. De Ligt was awarded the Golden Boy award last year, becoming the first ever defender to win the award.
The 19-year-old has been linked with a move to Anfield after admitting that a move could happen. De Ligt would bring in a lot stability to the Liverpool backline and next to his countryman, he would form one of the most formidable defensive partnerships in the league.
