Why Tottenham Hotspur should definitely revive their interest in Keita Balde
Tottenham Hotspur are third on the table currently. Spurs have made their best ever start to a season under Mauricio Pochettino as well and the club are definitely on the rise.
But extensive injuries have definitely taken their toll on the club this season. Spurs have seen a number of first-team stars succumb to injuries over the last two months. They also failed to make a single transfer in the summer.
Pochettino definitely needs to dive into the market and bolster the squad if they are to have any realistic ambitions of lifting a trophy under the manager. Spurs should consider reviving their interest in Monaco attacker Keita Balde.
According to Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur were linked with a move for the Senegal international in the summer. The Monaco forward is currently on a season-long loan at Serie A outfit Inter Milan but has barely featured regularly this season, making just 6 starts in the league until now.
But Keita is a pure goal scorer and a prolific finisher in front of the goal. He has mustered a total of 3 goals and provided 2 assists despite starting just 6 games this season. Generally classified as a left winger, Keita is also comfortable playing on the right flank. The 23-year-old is capable of playing as a lone forward as well. Spurs have often struggled to score goals on a consistent basis this season.
Adding Keita Balde would provide their frontline with a lot more venom in the final third. His ability to drive at defenders and create space for his teammates makes him a proper team player. The Senegalese is also very good when it comes to linking up in the final third.
Surely, the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Heung-Min Son will thrive playing alongside a potent force like Keita Balde. Pochettino will also have a healthy number of options to deploy given Keita’s versatility on the pitch.
They are not going to be able to go the entire season without making a transfer. Pochettino must do everything in his power to land the Senegalese forward when the window reopens.
