The World Cup has concluded and it’s France who have reached the top of the summit in the end by beating Croatia by a scoreline of 4-2 in the final. The biggest competition in the world football will be remembered for many memorable performances and matches.

There were giant-killings, thrilling matches, intriguing VAR, goals and then some more goals as the World Cup left spectators with a taste they won’t forget for a long time.

5. N’Golo Kante

The man who never stops running, didn’t stop at the World Cup either. A picture of perpetual motion, Kante covered every blade of the grass for France and proved to a crucial player for his team throughout the tournament. Kante averaged an insanely good 3 interceptions per game, with 2.1 tackles to go with it. The Chelsea man did all the defensive work France expected of him and kept it tidy and effective.

4. Kevin De Bryune

The Manchester City playmaker had a good campaign with Belgium as he was among the best performers for his country. De Bruyne assisted 2 goals and scored another to play an important role in taking his country to the semi-finals of the World Cup. The former Chelsea player showcased his excellent vision with many outstanding passing and crosses.

3. Harry Kane

The Golden boot winner of the World Cup, Harry Kane racked up 6 goals in 6 games for his country. The captain of the Three Lions, scored important, if not eye-catching goals for his team to help them reach the semi-finals of the World Cup. One could argue that Kane had a great deal of luck in getting those goals, as most of them were penalties but he still had a great tournament.

2. Kieran Trippier

Trippier sent English fans into a frenzy after he scored a peach of a free-kick against Croatia in the semi-finals. However, his team ultimately lost the game and went out of the tournament because of Croatia making a comeback and winning the game in extra-time. Trippier had an outstanding tournament in both an attacking and defensive sense. Despite being a defender by trade, the right wing-back created the most chances at World Cup.
