Here Are 3 Replacements Celtic Could Sign If This £30m Rated Star Decides To Leave The Club

Moussa Dembele has been in blistering form for Celtic so far this season, and for just £500k, he is looking like the best value buy in Europe in the summer.

But when a player is this good, it normally spells trouble for Celtic. Whilst they are a massive club, unfortunately for them, the SPL isn’t the biggest draw, and they struggle to hold onto their biggest players. Already, talk is circulating of a £30million bid from the Premier League and other clubs in Europe for the young Frenchman.

That in itself would represent a huge amount of money that could enable Rodgers to take the SPL club up a level and really make a mark in Europe either this season if they go into the Europa League or next season.

We look at 3 strikers that could replace Dembele for the Scottish giants.

Leigh Griffiths

Perhaps the most obvious, and a ready-made replacement for Dembele is a man already sat in their squad waiting for a chance. The Scottish International can count himself very, very unlucky that he hasn’t seen more first team football this season. He had an absolutely fantastic year last season scoring 31 goals in 34 games, and 40 in all competitions.

His form when playing hasn’t been as good this season, but playing second fiddle hits a strikers confidence to a certain degree. He has still shown Brendan Rodgers that he is capable of finding the back of the net when called on, however, and has 9 in 17 games, with some of them coming as a sub.

One thing is for sure, that Celtic do not need to rush to look for a replacement should Dembele leave, they have somebody in their ranks that can find the back of the net with ease.

Fabio Borini

It has been a spell in English football full of more downs than ups for Borini. But one man that is definitely a fan is Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers. The Celtic boss has signed Borini twice in his career, once on loan for Swansea, and then for Liverpool for £11million pounds.

With Sunderland struggling, it is thought that they will look to add players in January, and although injured Borini doesn’t look to be in the plans of David Moyes, Celtic could probably sign him for around £6million. This would be a good move for both Celtic and Borini, as Rodgers has shown that he is able to breathe life into the careers of players he has previously managed, as seen by the revival of Scott Sinclair after his move north of the border.

Marcus Ingvartsen

This one is perhaps a bit left field, but another option Celtic have is to buy another young talent. They have Leigh Griffiths as a ready-made replacement so can afford to buy a youngster they can develop. However, in Ingvartsen, they would be signing a forward that would perhaps be capable of coming straight in and performing.

The 19 year old Danish international currently plays in his home country for FC Nordsjaelland and is currently second in the top goalscorers table with 9 games in 15 appearances. He has also excelled for the u21 team with 8 goals in 8 appearances and a call to the full squad soon to be on the horizon.

He has been called the Danish Inzaghi such is his ability to find space and score goals, and Juventus are rumoured to have a passing interest, as well as Everton who have also scouted him.

But Celtic represent a chance for him to move to a massive club and get first team football.
