Here are 3 ideal Premier League destinations for Jack Butland

According to the Telegraph, Stoke City and England goalkeeper Jack Butland has split with his long-standing agent in a move which might raise the chances of him moving back to the Premier League.

The 25-year-old went down to the Championship after getting relegated from top-flight football with Stoke at the end of last season. This has hit the shot-stopper’s career to an extent that he is still the second or third choice goalkeeper for England.

National team manager Gareth Southgate has mentioned that Butland may continue to be in the team. However, chances are high that the gaffer might prefer Premier League performers, which means that the 25-year-old’s future could be up for grabs when the transfer window reopens in the winter. Jack Butland

Here are the three ideal destinations for Butland in Europe’s most intense league:

Chelsea

Maurizio Sarri’s men did spend a world-record fee to buy Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer. However, they are short on quality when it comes to the number two spot. Willy Caballero is currently holding that position but the Argentine is now 37 years old. Hence, he may not be able to play top-level football for long.

Kepa

Hence, Chelsea would need a new quality goalkeeper who can challenge Kepa week in week out. Jack Butland would be a brilliant option for Chelsea and Stamford Bridge could be a good step for the Englishman.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth have had Asmir Begovic in goal for a while now while Artur Boruc is old enough to be a deputy in the league games. The latter is now 38 years old, hence, it would not be a crazy idea for Bournemouth to plan for his retirement.

Eddie Howe

Begovic too is circumspect at times with his keeping, therefore, Butland can join Bournemouth and challenge for the No.1 spot. The Cherries under Eddie Howe are currently looking like an established Premier League team and a move to Bournemouth would be ideal for Jack Butland.

Watford

The Hornets bought Ben Foster this summer to bolster their goalkeeping department. Heurelho Gomes is now 37 years old and so it was high time Javi Gracia looked for a new shot-stopper. Watford did a good job by getting Foster from West Brom.

Despite the fact that the former Manchester United stopper has been good so far, it is important to note that he is nearing the end of his career. He is 35 years old and won’t be here for a long time. Therefore, Butland can join Watford and wait for his opportunity before grabbing a first-team place.
