Here Are 2 Strikers Who Could Be An Ideal Signing For Watford Including This Everton Ace

Two Strikers Watford Should Look To Sign Before The Transfer Window Closes

Watford are in a rebuilding phase under new manager Marco Silva. After enduring an extremely poor campaign last time around, where they finished at 17th place under Walter Mazzarri, the Hornets will be intent on getting a better outcome this time around.

To this end, the club has been fairly active in the transfer market, having already clinched five transfers in the summer. Watford have brought in Will Hughes, Nathaniel Chalobah, Tom Cleverley, Kiko Femenia and goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann so far, but Silva will definitely be looking to bring in more fresh faces into the squad before the transfer window closes.

One area, that does look a bit light is the centre-forward department. Watford have only Troy Deeney and Stefano Okaka in their ranks who are out and out strikers. While Jerome Sinclair can play at the top of the attack, he cannot be considered a very reliable option. With speculations doing the rounds about a fall out between the manager and Troy Deeney, bringing in a new striker becomes much more important for the club.

And here we take a look at two strikers that the Hornets should look to capture before the transfer window draws to a close.

Oumar Niasse (Everton)

Silva will be no stranger to Niasse after having managed him during the second half of last season at Hull City and should consider bringing him to the Vicarage Road.

The 27-year old hasn’t been the most prolific of the goal-scorers since his arrival at Everton back in January 2016. Having had a difficult start to life at the Goodison Park, he was loaned out to Hull in the winter window earlier this year where he did show some signs of form. The Senegalese striker finished with 5 goals in 18 games in all competitions for the Tigers.

Niasse has had a decent goal-scoring run in his career until his spell in England, and showed a semblance of revival in the handful of games under Silva. With Everton not wanting to keep him, Watford should consider the option of signing him.

Loic Remy (Chelsea)

The 30-year old Frenchman is set to be sold by the Premier League champions in the summer, with just a year left on his contract and Watford should explore the possibility of luring him to the club.

Remy may have endured a difficult season on loan at Crystal Palace, where he made only 8 appearances, spending almost the entirety of the season on the treatment table, nursing a serious injury. But, he is someone with vast experience and has proven himself to be able to cut it out at this level, during his spells with QPR and Newcastle United before.

28 goals in 79 Premier League games isn’t that bad a record considering that he spent most of the time warming the benches at Chelsea and only had late cameos for most parts. But there will be concerns over his ability to reproduce form after such a lengthy layoff. However, he will be available on the cheap due to his contract situation and Watford should look to take a gamble, because if it pays off, they will have a brilliant goal-scorer in their ranks.
