Here are 2 Everton players who Silva must offload in January including £24m Koeman signing

Two players Everton must offload in the January transfer window

Marco Silva has been a breath of fresh air at Everton since taking charge in the summer. His philosophy and dynamic style of play has thrown new life into the team, unlike the miserable performances under the past managers.

But the results haven’t exactly gone in favour of Marco Silva of late, with Everton’s winless streak stretching to four games following the 3-1 defeat against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium last weekend.

Surely, it’s time for Silva to start getting points on board if he hopes to qualify for Europe next season. The Toffees spent a lot of money in the summer on new signings and with the players that Silva has at his disposal now, they should be aiming for a top-six finish.

It’s true Everton lack in certain areas of the pitch and that makes the winter transfer window so vital for Silva. They clearly need more quality players to go up a level, so Silva must try getting a couple of fresh faces next month. But first, he should offload at least two players in the New Year to make space for new additions.

That said, here are two players Everton must offload in January.

Cenk Tosun

Signed from Besiktas amidst a lot of fanfare in January, Cenk Tosun has failed to live up to the expectations at Everton.

Cenk Tosun

It’s almost a year since Tosun arrived at the Goodison Park but apart from flashes of brilliance, it has not worked so far for the Turkish striker in the Premier League.

Though Tosun made a bright start to life at Everton, his form has dwindled alarmingly this term. The 28-year-old has scored just twice under Marco Silva, his last strike coming against Crystal Palace back in October.

Everton would be wise to offload him in January to fund a move for a new, prolific centre-forward.

Morgan Schneiderlin

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are one of the many clubs interested in signing Lyon star Tanguy Ndombele.

N’Dombele was a breakout talent in Ligue 1 while on loan at Lyon last season from Amiens and he made his debut for France in October. His performances for Lyon this season haven’t gone unnoticed, with a series of European clubs vying for his signature.

Morgan Schneiderlin

If Everton’s interest is concrete, they would have to spend £40m to lure the Frenchman to Goodison Park. The Merseysiders clearly have to spend big and they could fund Ndombele’s transfer by offloading Morgan Schneiderlin in January.

Schneiderlin, who was signed by Ronald Koeman for £24m, has fallen down the pecking order this season, with the likes of Idrissa Gueye, Andre Gomes and Tom Davies all ahead of him. The Frenchman is a complete outcast under Silva and it looks like his time is up at the Goodison Park.

Therefore, it would make complete sense for Silva to offload Schneiderlin next month and go all out to sign Ndombele.
