Manchester United’s 70-capped Attacker Could Be A Great Signing For Inter Milan To Win The Serie A Title

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Why Manchester United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan Would Be A Great Signing For Inter Milan

Inter Milan are seeking a loan deal for Manchester United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Jose Mourinho isn’t happy with the Armenian’s performances and as a result, the playmaker hasn’t started since the beginning of November. With Manchester United planning to sign Mesut Ozil or any other number 10, Jose has claimed that he would allow the Armenian international to leave, with the Serie A giants showing interest. As Milan cannot spend due to financial fair play rules, they are looking to sign him on loan.

More On The Player’s Background

Mkhitaryan spent 11 years with Pyunik’s youth and development squads. At a mere age of 17, he was promoted to the first-team where he helped them to the title four times in a row. He was then purchased by Metalurh Donetsk and shined brightly with 16 goals in 45 appearances before being signed by rivals Shakhtar Donetsk. He netted 44 times for them in just 106 appearances.

This caught the eye of clubs from bigger leagues and earned him the reputation of being the next big thing in Europe. He then moved to Borussia Dortmund and had the highest number of assists in the 2015-2016 season. In his 140 games for Dortmund, he scored 41 goals and created 49. The 28-year-old was then signed by Manchester United who splashed the cash from all corners to regain lost glory.

Sadly this season, in the last 10 match day squads of the Portuguese mastermind, he has not even featured on the bench 8 times, a stat which doesn’t go well with his calibre. For his national side, he has 70 caps. In this calendar year, he has netted 6 goals in just 9 appearances.

What Would He Offer To Inter?

He will add innovation and creativity to the higher end of the pitch. He built a reputation one of the best attacking midfielders in the Bundesliga, with Dortmund. The Armenian possesses skill and trickery of the highest order. He can embarrass defences with his split passing and can be cheeky with his through balls and dribbles.

This clearly means that he is technically gifted and has good feet. He is quite versatile as he can play a box to box midfielder role, a number 10 role, or as a winger as well; a quality that was well exploited by his bosses, Jurgen Klopp and Tuchel. Defensively, he is one of the most hard-working attackers, an aspect that Italian clubs love to have, or for that matter any club or manager.

Worth The Fuss?

Henrikh Mkhitaryan could add resourcefulness and ingenuity to any club he ends up at. He is surely worth a loan deal as he could guide Inter Milan to the Serie A title, the glory they haven’t tasted for the past 7 years, as Juventus have rather walked away with the trophy at times. Internazionale have won 12 out of 18 games this season and are right up there to fight for first place. If not a permanent deal, which looks impossible at the moment, Inter need to sign him on loan to challenge for the league title.
