Massive News! Gunners Seen Scouting This South American Goal Machine

Arsenal have plenty of talented midfielders and when a report of a midfielder is linked with Arsenal surfaces, we cannot help but wonder if we should take the news seriously.

According to the latest reports, a Dutch outlet, the Gunners have sent scouts to observe Gaston Pereiro from PSV Eindhoven. The Uruguayan had an impressive season last year when he scored 14 goals in 39 appearances for the club. Now, Arsenal are reportedly scouting Pereiro alongside FC Porto. The news comes as a surprise since the Gunners should be prioritizing a move for a defender with the current scenario. With both Mertesacker and Gabriel injured, the club should be looking at defensive reinforcement so we are not really sure about a move for Pereiro this summer.

However, we have seen this happen before when Arsene Wenger went on to purchase midfielders even when other positions needed reinforcement more urgently than the midfield. Keep your fingers crossed Arsenal fans.
