Former champions of England, Manchester City have outbid their domestic rivals Manchester United in the race to sign Barcelona forward Pedro, though the Red Devils are still the favourites to sign him, as per what Guillem Balague has now confirmed on Twitter. There were reports from Spain confirming that the Citizens had made a better offer than Louis van Gaal’s side, which was said to be €30m plus €2m as performance bonuses.
Though officials from Old Trafford were desperately trying to sign the 28-year old forward, the club have refused to meet the Catalan side’s €30m asking price till now.
Few things on Pedro. 1. He doesn’t really wanna go but doesn’t or won’t play enough. He knows he has to go

2. United hasn’t reached yet the 30m euros of his buy out clause that FCB demands. But is close

3. The treatment from LvG to de Gea will have no influence on Pedro’s decision

4. City offer is 30m plus 2, superior to United’s so far. So very much in the equation with United. Chelsea interested but third favourite

However, Sky Sports claimed that Ed Woodward is quite close to an agreeing a deal with his Nou Camp counterparts and United remain the club closing on him.
Balague further added that the Spanish international has no interest in leaving, but the fact that he will not get enough playing time at Barca might force him to move elsewhere for first team action.
