Guardiola To Make 4 Changes – Strongest 4-3-3 Manchester City Lineup To Face Watford

Predicted Manchester City Line-up To Face Watford In The Premier League

Manchester City succumbed to a goalless draw against Crystal Palace in their last game in the Premier League but they will be looking to get back to winning ways as they play Watford in the next one. After a stupendous start to the league last year, Pep Guardiola’s team looked unstoppable but against the Eagles, some players did look exhausted and that could prompt the manager to rotate the side against Watford.

To continue to remain unbeaten, City are likely to push for a draw against Marco Silva’s unpredictable side and the upcoming match will be an interesting one.

Team News

The Sky Blues will have to do without Gabriel Jesus, who is likely to be out for more than a month. Ace midfielder Kevin De Bruyne will also miss out and a question mark looms over David Silva’s inclusion as well. Benjamin Mendy, Phil Foden and Vincent Kompany continue to be injured while Fabian Delph and John Stones are expected to return for this game.

Probable Manchester City XI

Manager: Pep Guardiola

Formation: 4-3-3

Ederson Moraes (GK)

Moraes has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League this season and is likely to essay his usual role and hopefully maintain a clean sheet.

Kyle Walker (RB)

Walker continues to be a solid presence at right-back for City and Guardiola is likely to hand him a start to face Silva’s men. He knows how to combine physical aggression with pace and that will be important for the club on Tuesday.

John Stones (CB)

Mangala did a decent job in his absence but now it is time for Stones to take up his usual role at centre-back. Maintaining tightness at the back will be crucial against Watford and Stones can do a pretty good job at that.

John Stones

Nicolas Otamendi (CB)

Otamendi impressed once more against Palace and excelled on attacking and defensive fronts. He is likely to start in his usual place against Watford and link up with Stones as well.

Fabian Delph (LB)

Delph is expected to return for this game and he could provide a better attacking outlet on the left considering how the club struggled with pace when Danilo played there against Palace.

Fernandinho (CDM)

Fernandinho has been one of City’s most influential players in the middle of the park and Guardiola will need him to be at his best to effectively link the defence with the attack. That should see him earn a starting spot.

Ilkay Gundogan (CM)

Gundogan could come in and deputise for David Silva. Filling a void left behind by Silva is tough but Gundogan has been decent enough and should receive a start against Watford as well.

Bernardo Silva (CM)

Partnering him in the centre of the midfield is likely to be Bernardo Silva. With De Bruyne set to be out of action, Silva could start once more after the game against Palace.

Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane

Leroy Sane (LW)

Sane was not at his best against Palace but the youngster is likely to seek redemption against Watford. His counter-attacking skills will have to be top-notch against a resilient Hornets side if he gets selected for Tuesday’s game.

Raheem Sterling (RW)

Sterling did not start the previous game and he could start against Watford. His pace and creativity on the right will be needed to break the club’s steely defence.

Sergio Aguero (CF)

With Jesus out for a considerable amount of time, Aguero should return to the starting lineup. He has been quite influential whenever he has played and City will hope he can get his name on the score sheet.
