Griffiths And Sinclair To Start – Strongest 4-1-4-1 Celtic Line-Up To Face Ross County

Predicted Celtic Line-up To Face Ross County In Scottish Premiership

Celtic will look to bounce back from the midweek debacle in the UEFA Champions League, when they take on Ross County in the Scottish Premiership at the Celtic Park on Saturday.

The Hoops were thrashed 5-0 by a rampant Paris Saint-Germain side on Tuesday night in the first group game of their European campaign and manager Brendan Rodgers will be hoping that his troops put that defeat behind them and continue their strong run in the domestic campaign.

Team News

Defenders Dedryck Boyata and Erik Sviatchenko are back in training for the Hoops, while star striker Moussa Dembele too is back in contention. However, it is unlikely that any of the three will be rushed back into action by Rodgers. Midfielder Kouassi Eboue still remains unavailable.

Here’s how Celtic could take the field against Ross County:

Manager: Brendan Rodgers

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Craig Gordon (GK)

Having shipped in five goals in the previous game, the veteran shot-stopper will be itching to get a clean sheet on Saturday.

Mikael Lustig (RB)

Having played as a centre-half against PSG, the Swedish defender is likely to return to his natural right-back position against Ross County.

Kristoffer Ajer (CB)

The 19-year old has looked decent each time he has been given an opportunity and Rodgers could look to give him a go on Saturday.

Nir Bitton (CB)

With Jozo Simunovic having a poor game in the midweek, Rodgers might look to change things up and hand the Israel international a start against the Staggies.

Kieran Tierney (LB)

The 20-year old is very much likely to continue at left-back for the Hoops on Saturday. Will be a great danger on the the left-hand side.

Scott Brown (DM)

Scott Brown will have a huge role to play in the middle and a lot depends on his performance. The captain should lead his team from the front and help them bounce back from a heavy defeat.

Callum McGregor

James Forrest (RW)

Having been benched for two games running, in favour of Patrick Roberts, the Scotsman may make a return to the playing XI on Saturday.

Callum McGregor (CM)

McGregor wasn’t involved in the midweek game and could return to the starting line-up. He will look to make good use of the opportunity.

Tom Rogic (CM)

McGregor will be partnered by Tom Rogic in the midfield. The Australian will look to provide the creativity in the attacking third for Celtic.

Scott Sinclair

Scott Sinclair (LW)

On the left-hand side of the attack will be Englishman Scott Sinclair. The last season’s top scorer is slowly getting into the zone and will be a huge threat.

Leigh Griffiths (ST)

Leading the line for the Hoops will be the 27-year old Leigh Griffiths. The Scotland international has scored and assisted five each and will want to add more to his tally, against the Staggies.
