Manchester United are planning for an overhaul this summer, after a disappointing season under Louis Van Gaal, who is currently facing a sack. United are looking out for Greek player Kostas Manolas to boost their attacking options.
Currently playing for Roma, Manolas was earlier linked heavily with Chelsea, during Jose Mourinho’s time at the Stamford Bridge and with United looking out for the player, seems like Mourinho is working secretly for his time at the Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho is the favorite in replacing Louis Van Gaal this summer, however, neither the club nor the manager have officially confirmed the news, although with the Top Four slipping away Van Gaal, Mourinho’s move to the Old Trafford seems inevitable.
Further Di Marzio claims that the incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte too is impressed by the player, however, United seem to be leading the race to sign the player.
Roma are yet to pay the second installment of £5.2m to Olympiakos for the player, which is scheduled to be paid in September, while, the earlier installment was paid in 2014. Thus, United will need more than £10.4m to bring the player to the Old Trafford.
