Emanuele Giuilianelli has claimed that Borussia Dortmund star, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is very close to a move to Manchester United. Even though Giuilianelli sometimes hits off the mark, he was the one predicted Granit Xhaka’s move to Arsenal weeks before it actually happened.
So we would take this report with a bit of caution and optimism. However other media outlets such as Starsport also has claimed that United have made an improved bid of £28 million after their first bid has been rejected. The first bid was in the range of £18 million. The new boss Jose Mourinho is a big fan and wants Mkhitaryan at Old Trafford at any cost. If Dortmund rejects this bid, expectations are that United may further increase their offer.
The player himself has declined to renew the contract at Dortmund and the club may be better off selling him now for a price rather than losing him for free next season.
