Ricardo Rodriguez is one of the players who has been constantly watched by many scouts over the years. The Swiss star certainly is one of the best left-backs in the Bundesliga and his performances at the club have brought him many admirers from some of the other top leagues in the world.
The Premier League is just another location where Ricardo could end up coming to, he has been linked with a move to many Premier League clubs but one particular club could be in the running to sign the 23-year-old.
Rodriguez might just be the right, left-back (see what I did there?) for Arsenal. It isn’t just because he has been one of the best in Germany for a number of years, but also because Arsenal do not really have a lot of quality in that region.
Nacho Monreal was voted as one of the best players in the league and it was no surprise seeing that he was voted as the best right-back as well. Arsenal have only Nacho Monreal as someone who regularly played in the left-back slot, but the Spaniard is not a natural left-footer while Rodriguez has been exceptional for the Wolfsburg side since he joined them.
The 23-year-old is great at almost every single facet of the game there is. From crossing balls to setting up his teammates and launching attacks, Rodriguez is the perfect attacking left-back that Arsenal have needed for a number of years.
The Swiss star is also great at dribbling and passing the ball around, so he is extremely comfortable with the ball at his feet and could form a great relationship with either Mesut Ozil or Alexis Sanchez, which would make Arsenal potent from both sides of the pitch.
The defender is also adept at taking set-pieces, another plus for a team that is always on the lookout for attacks. Rodriguez also is no mean slouch and apart from having blistering pace down the left, he is extremely energetic and keeps on running all throughout the game.
Arsenal have always wanted to sign young players who can grow with time and in Rodriguez, they have one of the best young players in the world. Rodriguez would not come on the cheap but Arsenal and Arsene Wenger know how to get the players they want and it they are willing to splash the cash, they could end up with probably the best set of full-backs in the Premier League.
