Wonderkids are the new tendency nowadays, and clubs are eager to make their squads younger and younger by the day in order to compete for many years to come, so scouts are constantly looking for the diamonds in the rough to develop and become great stars for their clubs.

One of the guys who is currently being scouted by dozens of teams right now is Mainz’s starlet Yunus Malli, a versatile midfielder that’s been linked with several moves both for other Bundesliga’s sides like Borussia Dortmund or overseas to Valencia and more recently, Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs and the Argentinian boss love to develop young players and Yunus Malli is their newest target for this upcoming transfer window, as the youngster has had some outstanding performances for the German side and he seems more than ready to make a move to a bigger team and have a starring role at a more competitive tournament.

But, who is this guy? Let’s take a look at some of his features and get a bigger picture of why is everybody so hyped about this talented 24-year-old Turkish midfielder.

Malli is a very versatile guy that can play almost everywhere in the centre of the pitch, from defensive midfielder to behind the striker. However, he thrives the most as a playmaker, as his defence is still a work in progress, but he’s shown great improvements in this area and it’s always eager to help his team get the ball back on the counter attacks.

The youngster has made over 16 appearances for his team this season amongst all competitions, being a starter in all but one game this year. On top of that, he’s managed to score 8 goals to go along with 5 assists, so you can make an idea of how much of an offensive talent this guy is.

Yunus is an outstanding passer with a great vision of the field, and he often makes the right play to set his teammates up with a great opportunity. On top of that, he’s also an amazing finisher with both feet, being a complete threat on the counter attack with his great speed and dribbling ability.

On the downside, he often tends to do a bit too much when carrying the ball at his feet, but that’s something that can be easily fixed while playing on a more competitive team. He also lacks aerial duel ability.

Yunus is a very interesting player with a lot to provide on a football pitch, and he’ll completely thrive under Pochettino’s system playing alongside Dele Alli and Harry Winks, and he’ll be a complete threat behind Harry Kane, so it’ll make a lot of sense for Spurs to make a run at this talented youngster.

Spurs’ main problem this season has been sending the ball to the bottom to the nets, and this guy could be the perfect fit to solve those offensive woes, so don’t be shocked if you see him dressed as a yid at White Hart Lane anytime soon.
