Go for it Silva – Why Everton must do everything to complete a £12m deal for this Championship starlet

According to reports, Everton are considering making a move for Hull City starlet Jarrod Bowen this summer.

Bowen, 21, was fantastic for the Tigers last season, bagging 15 goals in all competitions, as he deservedly won Hull’s Player of the Year award.

The winger’s performances have not gone unnoticed in the Premier League with former Hull boss Marco Silva now wanting him at Everton. The Toffees are preparing a £12m bid for Bowen, who was handed his Premier League debut in the second half of the 2016/17 season by then Hull boss Silva.

Hull are reportedly desperate to hold on to their prized asset and are in a strong position as Bowen still has two years left on his current contract with them. But should Everton make a move for the winger?

Jarrod Bowen

Bowen started one game and came off the bench six times in the 2016/17 Premier League campaign for Hull City. While he impressed at the KCOM stadium, Silva failed to keep Hull in the top-flight, despite enjoying a late resurgence.

Last season in the Championship, Bowen was a revelation as he took the division by storm with his unexpected goalscoring pedigree. 15 goals in all competitions at the age of 21 is a really good return for any player. Not only did Bowen impress with his goals and creativity, the starlet also demonstrated high work-rate which helped to establish himself as one of the Tigers’ best young talents.

Everton boss Silva is well aware of Bowen’s potential after working with him at Hull. After a prolific season in the Championship, the dazzling wide man looks destined for a move to the top-flight. With his creativity, pace and goals, the ex-Hereford man proved he can be a serious goal threat in a sub-par Hull side.

New Everton boss Marco Silva

So, without wasting further time, Everton should consider signing Bowen. He would add some much-needed creativity and freshness for the Toffees next season. The youngster, who is one of the most exciting talents in English football, is expected to do well in the Premier League after proving himself in the Championship.

Bowen has all the qualities to be a hit in the Premier League and under Silva, he would also have the right manager to aid his development.

As things stand, Hull would do everything to keep hold of their rising star after a blistering season last term. Therefore, Everton must make an offer for Bowen the Tigers simply cannot refuse.
